Yesterday was my Nanna and Pops 60th wedding aniversary - i hope craigie and i make it to 60th - Nanna and Pop are so cute - Pop bought Nanna a lovely tablecloth at the local craft store (big claps for him!) and when they heard what it was for - threw in a crocheted coat hanger which i think is really lovely! they also took each other to lunch at the club - i really wish i could have been there to make them a nice dinner - they got 2 days of phone calls instead! Poor Nanna has bronchitis though - i really wish they were closer to town....i worry. Monet and i are going to make them an applique hand - been dying to make one - trace the outline of M's hand onto baking paper - choose a material i love (been trying to find a vintage bush one - no luck) applique onto another material (i think i will actually use calico) and frame. will try and label it too. Though im leaning towards a embroidery hoop, not a frame.
Also on the list is Angies Heart applique top - she has a interview on the day of her birthday.....3 days before valentines day.....so will get her a little bonds singlet/cami and sew either a heart on in material - or some buttons - i will hand sew the buttons all on though. Labour of love!
mmmm Blogging at work.....bit naughty though i did deserve a rest with all this procedure updating - and im trying to avoid brain fry!

Do love to find a lovely website and drool - this is todays.....also this one......Im all for the costly and the not so costly! Actually - more the get it not at costly but be a costly product! You know what they say - im the total champagne on the beer (or shall we insert casky wine for beer?!)budget!
Going to pick up some stuff tomorrow to make Lyndalls baby shower goodies - im making her........not telling!
I also need some press stud tape for my sisters cushion covers - the ones that were supposed to be for christmas - but were not completed due to the almost dying thing. think i will make coops a skirt same as Monets too - just a bang around which we all know kids need! Even moreso there as they are out in the mud and the dirt climbing up down and around stuff! Oh - might see if i can find Zacs camo material too - for his winter quilt! While im there.
Oh - and i think i just read - a ball point needle is good for sewing stretch material - along with my walking foot - so will have to consult the guru next door (or the ladies online) for a positive or negative confirmation on this little tidbit. Me being a novice sewer has its positives and negatives - positive - no pre-concieved ideas about how to do things and what it should look like - negative - some techniques not built up in the knowledge bank yet. Like how to sew press stud tape evenly on the stud side........again, will consult the guru i think.

Well - now ive figured that out......i will have to save all my pics on a flash drive! Not that i mind as after the house was struck by lightning fiasco - and killed the hard drive - making a backup for all our photos is very smart!
Im dying to get a new camera - i really want to start taking more photos - to both sell, use to sell what i make, and also to help me with my fabric.
Im reading as much as i can about fabric and textiles and the process that you go through from idea to bolt - its pretty full on but i really think i can make it work - the key is education and knowing all there is to know about the process.
I really dont know or remember if i blogged about the old fabric obsession or the fact i want to design my own - i did tell someone i just cant remember when or who!
Ive started with some ideas on paper - im not committing anything to computer files yet - lets just wait and see!
So after emailing back and forth with Ange today - i sent as my last links these beautiful designs - so lovely yet very simple - just my thing!
This dress - just lovely, also this one too! That Carol Hannah has a big future ahead of her im sure - unfortunately i dont have Foxtel - or i would have been able to see her on Project Runway!

Quick quilt - well now - it appears i can send from flickr to here so i will try that for now! though if i have a direct link i should just be able to copy and paste then upload on here! again...grrrrrr!
Well - here is my latest wonky - but much improved project! The quilt is fantastic - not a stitch out of place - except i should have sewn the satin ribbon on with clear or blue/matching thread! Der.
The cushions turned out great! The big circle applique one started badly - with me having a sugar low from not eating so getting even more cranky and only after eating - and unpicking all but one circle i hand stitched - started again. they are zigzag stitched on and i eventually got the hang of turning circles! Not easy when you machine has a presser foot that only wants to do straight lines! Have to get a free motion foot - one day! Monet absolutely loved them - and so now they live in her room!
